Storkie started as a baby company, focusing on baby shower invitations and birth announcements. Over the years, our customers kept coming back to us requesting help with their other special occasions, and we expanded our selections. While our product lines grew from baby to include religious, wedding, graduation, holiday, and party invitations, our core philosophy of providing high quality invitations and announcements at affordable prices, printed and shipped very fast has stayed constant.

Storkie was one of the first invitations companies on the web – and from our first site that launched in 1998 to the latest Storkie.com 4.0 that launched mid-January 2010, Storkie has been commited to innovating how invitations can be ordered. We strive to provide the best customer experience, from our revolutionary design tool iDesign to our excellent customer service to our perfectionist typesetters. Digital proofs are available at no extra cost, as we simply want the finished product to be perfect!

Kelly Lester is the creator and CEO of EasyLunchboxes.com. Kelly shares her story on how Easy Lunchboxes were created!

“I never really set out to invent anything. I always planned to be a performer and have a family. My first business, decorative lightswitch covers, came about by accident when our first daughter was a toddler. I went on to have a couple more kids and had sort of lost the performing bug for a while, so that business worked well for me at the time. But after about 12 years, I missed performing, so I sold the switchplate biz and worked hard to resume my acting and singing career. But last year when I hit upon my EasyLunchbox idea, I knew other busy families would really love it too. It truly seemed like too good of an idea to ignore. So now, when I’m not auditioning or rehearsing for something, I’m running EasyLunchboxes.com. Of course, not everything is easy or always runs smoothly, and the constant juggling of priorities is probably the most difficult hurdle, one which remains an ongoing daily challenge. Gratefully, my very helpful husband, actor Loren Lester, is my support and sanity when I need a boost of either!

I’ve always been kind of the ‘queen of doing things fast and efficiently’ and with three kids and lunchboxes to make every day, I was SO tired of struggling with mismatched containers and wasteful baggies – trying to fit them into 3 different size lunch coolers. Usually there wasn’t room for everything, and then I’d have to make changes in the food choices or containers. What a frustrating waste of time every day! Since unhealthy school lunch programs were not an option, I knew I had to come up with a more time saving way to pack healthy meals for my kids…. BINGO– one container to hold 3 different food items, and a roomy enough cooler for the rest. Now THAT would really streamline my lunch packing chore!

Honestly, I just thought that other moms would like my EasyLunchbox System because it would save them time, but it’s been truly gratifying to find that my EasyLunchboxes are making such a difference to people of all ages, with or without kids, who are simply in need of an efficient, affordable, and green way to transport their food.”

I am sure that many of you have been following the horrific events that have unfolded in Haiti. The news of the deadly earthquake deeply saddened both Sharon & I, but the relief efforts that have since followed have been truly amazing! Last summer, I led a mission trip to an orphanage in Haiti called the Hands and Feet Project. The children there were precious! Not only did this orphanage care for their own, but had developed food programs to help their entire community. Raising funds for those less fortunate in Haiti has been near and dear to my heart, even prior to this catastrophe. Now, the need is greater than ever. Hands and Feet is one of the few local organizations leading the relief effort and getting supplies to those most in need. Please visit their site for updates at www.handsandfeetproject.org

Pixie Bows has decided to donate 50% of all online retail sales placed in the month of February to help Hands and Feet continue their relief efforts in Haiti. I know many around me who have asked how can they help. Well, here is a way…buy a Pixie Bows’ hair clip! Not only will you get one of our unique and trendy hair clips, but you will be donating to the relief efforts in Haiti. What a win-win situation for everyone!

PHOTO CONTEST:

We also have a photo contest running from Feb-April with the winning photo being featured on our online site for the entire month of May. Photos of your little cuties wearing Pixie Bows can be submitted to Sharon@pixiebows.com and we will share all the submissions on our facebook page and blog. The winner will also receive one of our new products that we are debuting at the ENK Children Show in New York City this March.

More About Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF)

Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is an international medical humanitarian organization created by doctors and journalists in France in 1971.

MSF’s work is based on the humanitarian principles of medical ethics and impartiality. The organization is committed to bringing quality medical care to people caught in crisis regardless of race, religion, or political affiliation.

MSF operates independently of any political, military, or religious agendas. Medical teams conduct evaluations on the ground to determine a population’s medical needs before opening programs. The key to MSF’s ability to act independently in response to a crisis is its independent funding. Eighty-nine percent of MSF’s overall funding (and 100 percent of MSF-USA’s funding) comes from private sources, not governments.
