GENISE PARK DESIGNS

I love to design and create colorful hand woven accessories for the home as well as scarves and shawls for the body. Each piece is uniquely different even though there may be more than one of each item. Often times I will hand dye a yarn to get the perfect color I need to add excitement to a piece. Using only the highest quality yarns to ensure that my creations are of the highest standard. Nature is my inspiration for all my weavings, knitting and fine art.

I learned how to sew when I was five years old from grandma and haven’t stopped since. It is so rewarding to create using the sewing machine and I have so much fun.  I  am passionate about making  quilts combining different colors using vibrant Kaffe Fasset fabrics or Reproduction Fabrics from various time periods.  I love to experiment with different patterns and colors, seeing what happens on small and large scale. All fabrics are 100% cotton as is the quilting thread. Also, I used 80% cotton/20% polyester Warm N Natural batting in the middle. I wash all of my quilts before shipping, giving it a slightly puckered vintage look, while also softening the fabrics.

Very beautiful baby quilts. My youngest daughter was the only one out of our four children to be blessed with a quilt. I would love to be able to get one for our baby El’. I will be visiting often.

Thank-you. My youngst wasn’t blessed blankets/quilts either, however since I started quilting several years ago I have made her three. She loves them all and in the winter piles them high on her bed to keep warm. Keep checking in (website/etsy) to see if there is something that will work for you and your family.
